I. Buruma, A. Margalit: "Occidentalism"

An interesting essay on the concept of "Occidentalism" or the modalities through which the idea of Western culture and society has been translated in other cultural contexts and how western society and culture are considered, perceived and interpreted in other cultural scenarios.

This is a good and well written book dealing with very topical issues.

Maybe not indispensable in a private library but I suggest its reading also to young readers.

Un interesante saggio sul concetto di "Occidentalismo" ovvero le modalità con le quali l'idea di Occidente è stata declinata in altri contesti culturali e di come l'occidente viene visto, percepito ed interpretato in scenari culturali "altri".

Un buon saggio di grande attualità scritto anche piuttosto bene.

Non indispensabile, ma ne consiglio la lettura anche ai più giovani.
